• Check whether the online merchant is a participant of MasterCard SecureCode.
• Check whether your system blocks pop-ups. If necessary, switch off the software that blocks pop-ups.

No. The OTP is only required for online merchants that support the 3D Secure authentication protocol.

You will not be able to complete the transaction and will be routed back to the merchant website.

You will still be able to transact at 3D Secure merchant websites for three times without entering the OTP. However, this is not advisable as the transaction will be non-authenticated. Hence you are encouraged to update your mobile phone number with us. Simply call our 24-hr CitiPhone at +973 17582484 to update your mobile phone number.

The OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number of primary card holder. The primary card holder will then be required to share the OTP with the supplementary card holder to complete the transaction. However it is advisable to update the supplementary card holders contact details by calling CitiPhone at +973 17582484 so that supplementary card holder can receive the OTP directly.

Earlier, you were required to register your Citi MasterCard for MasterCard Secure Code and set a static password that you would then enter for every online transaction on the 3D Secure page for authentication. Citi Card will now send you a new 6 digit numeric  One Time Password (OTP) to your registered mobile no. every time that you initiate an online transaction.  You will need to enter this OTP on the 3D Secure page to authenticate your transaction.

No. Every 6 digit OTP is valid only for that particular transaction and cannot be used for any other transaction.

Each OTP is valid for 10 minutes or one successful usage whichever is earlier.

One Time Password (OTP) would be instantly sent to the mobile phone number in our records, after you have started the transaction and entered your card details. If you do not receive the OTP, please check if your mobile no. registered with your Citibank is correct or not. If the registered details are correct, you can request for the OTP to be re-sent to you by clicking on the resend link appearing in the below message displayed on the screen-'If you have not received the OTP yet, please click here to request again for your One Time Password'
